Have you ever thought of using essential oils to support overall wellness during a renovation?
“Is this ever going to be done?”, said everyone who’s ever done a renovation.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news or a negative Nancy, but there’s a slim chance your reno will go from start to finish without a hitch. It will not be rainbows and unicorns and most likely, it will feel endless and become overwhelming. You will be aching for the relief that washes over you once it’s completed.
Rest assured, there are ways that you can enjoy the renovation process. Here’s the deal, you’ve got to make sure to continue taking care of yourself, emotionally and physically, while embarking on the reno process. You can’t allow your wellness to fall to the wayside.
In this post, I shared how I’ve introduced Essential oils into my home to create a more peaceful environment. I’m sharing 10 oils that you can use to support overall wellness during a renovation.
10 essential oils you need during a reno
- Purification (This is my favorite blend. It. Smells. So. Effing. Good.)
Let’s be honest, renos can get well, smelly.
This blend is made up of six essential oils for the ultimate weapon against odors. Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree work together to create a refreshing, bright scent that keeps you and your family happy and comfortable.*
My three favorite ways to use it are by diffusing it, adding it to my wool dryer balls, and putting on a cotton ball and placing them at the bottom of my garbage baskets. Purification will help keep your home smelling fresh and clean during your renovation.
- Stress Away
Stress Away™ is the first product to contain the unique combination of Lime and Vanilla pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. With an aroma that is the perfect blend of tropical and citrus, Stress Away is uniquely relaxing and comforting.*
Before the renovation starts, take an 8oz mason jar and add 1 cup of epsom salts, 1 cup baking soda, and 10-15 drops of Stress Away Essential Oil. After a long day, whether you’re DIY-ing your reno or just #adulting, pour yourself a glass of wine (or grab a beer), put on some music, and add this to a hot bath to relax.
Panaway is a great oil to apply to the neck and back anytime for a soothing and stimulating aromatic experience. It helps support circulation and relieve inflammation with a combination of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove and Peppermint blend.
One of Young Living’s most popular products (and another one of my faves), Thieves® essential oil is a powerful combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils for an aromatic blend that fills any space with a rich, spicy aroma.*
Grab a capful of the Thieves concentrated cleaner and add water to a glass spray bottle for an all purpose cleaner that can go from the countertops, to the floor, to the windows.
Nicknamed the “Swiss army knife” of the oils, Lavender is super versatile. Diffuse with a few drops of Stress away for an ultra calming environment or add to a roller ball with equal drops Cedarwood then fill will a carrier oil of your choice. Roll on bottom of feet at night for a relaxing night’s sleep.
I want to take a minute to note that the first 5 oils are all part of the Premium Starter Kit, which you can find more about here.
Another one of my favorites! This oil is so grounding and when combined with Lavender, super relaxing. It has a warm, woodsy aroma that creates a comforting, uplifting experience.*
This blend from Young Living supports fostering a grateful attitude and embracing the blessings in your life. Who doesn’t need that reminder when you’re knee deep in a reno? (Especially when you’re headed down the negativity hole.)
Release is a blend with a relaxing aroma that facilitates the ability to let go of anger and frustration. It also promotes harmony and balance when diffused.*
So, when your contractor calls you to tell you about the cabinet that has to be reordered and will take 2 weeks, calmly hang up and drop some of this in your diffuser.
When worn as a fragrance, this blend invites togetherness. This aroma invites a sense of romance, bliss, and warmth when diffused, which may be the nice break you need on your “no reno chat” rule night.
Who wouldn’t want to invite Abundance into their life during a reno, am I right? This blend combines oils such as Orange and Ginger, which were used by ancient cultures to attract prosperity and magnify joy and peace.*
