To me, I feel the same way about deciding on pendant lighting as some people feel about choosing a paint color.
But, it may not be for the reason you’re thinking.
Selecting pendant lighting for me, or really just choosing lighting in general, is like a kid in a candy store. I love so many options that it makes the decision so difficult. I want #allthethings, but let’s be realistic, there’s only so many lights you can have in your home.
I mean, I don’t live in a lighting store.
Lighting can be simple or unique and either way it’s a huge part of your space. There are two things that I don’t think we often consider when shopping for lighting.
First, is this fixture going to provide the amount of light I need for the space? I fell in absolute head over heels can’t sleep can’t eat love with this ceiling fan, only to read the reviews and find out it doesn’t provide enough lighting to be the soul source in a room.
Considering that I was planning for it in my dining room which is just under 400 sq ft with only one light source as of now, that made it the wrong choice. #heartbroken
Second thing we forget to consider is the other lighting styles in our home. Now if you’re like me and didn’t select them yourself and you’re working room to room to replace them, then you’re all set. However, think about the style of your home, your furnishings, and your other lighting before you choose an industrial fixture for your cape code style living room.
I have been having so much fun shopping for pendant lighting that I wanted to share with you 10 pendants I found for under $150!
